Woke up to .9 degrees Fahrenheit this morning. Extreme cold and wind gusts the last two days often drive the temperature below zero with wind chill factored in.
As we close in on the end of the year, we know weather shifts can be dramatic in the Maine Highlands. From cold to snow to ice with resulting power outages, property security and safety is crucial. Last week's multi-day power outage with scores of downed trees was trying. We spent three days without power and three days clearing limbs, cutting up downed trees that blocked driveways and trails in the area.
In two weeks, we turn the corner on 2020, the year of challenges, yet know that 2021 will still feature weather obstacles and frustrations for homeowners. Travel restrictions are still in effect in Maine and New England, so homeowners will continue to seek property assurances. Happy Hanukkah and a Merry Christmas! See you in the New Year.
